Privacy Policy

drft is a window manager for macOS developed by ndrws LLC. This policy explains how the current drft app and this website handle information.

Information used on your Mac

drft uses information from macOS to arrange windows and respond to your controls. This includes:

• App names and identifiers, window identifiers and titles, window sizes and positions, and which window is focused.
• Window and interface properties needed to identify windows, dialogs, and controls.
• Display dimensions, layout information, and the position of the canvas.
• Keyboard, mouse, and trackpad events needed to recognize shortcuts, gestures, dragging, and focus changes.

Window titles can contain personal information, such as a document name or webpage title. drft processes them locally to label tabs and identify windows. Input events are used to operate the app; drft does not save a history of the text you type.

Permissions

• Accessibility: Lets drft find, move, resize, and focus windows and read the window properties needed for those actions.
• Input Monitoring: Lets drft recognize your chosen controls while you work in other apps.

You can review or revoke these permissions in macOS System Settings under Privacy & Security. Features that depend on a revoked permission will stop working.

Settings and saved layouts

drft stores preferences, app rules, shortcut bindings, layouts, and original window positions on your Mac. The current app stores these files in ~/Library/Application Support/drft/. Saved layouts include app, process, and window identifiers so drft can match windows and restore their arrangement.

These files are not automatically uploaded by drft. Your operating system or backup software may include them in backups according to your own settings.

Local logs and diagnostics

drft writes diagnostic messages to the macOS logging system. These can include app names, window identifiers, window geometry, error details, timing measurements, and reasons the app paused. macOS controls the retention of its system logs.

If you choose Export Diagnostics, drft saves a report to a location you select. The report includes technical details such as display information, window counts, performance measurements, and pause information. Exporting a report does not send it to ndrws LLC.

If you choose to send logs, a report, or a screenshot for support, review it first and remove anything you do not want to share.

This website

The current website has no advertising, analytics scripts, tracking pixels, or third-party font requests. Its interactive preview uses sample windows and does not access your desktop or other apps.

If you change the website’s light or dark theme, your browser saves that preference in local storage under drft-theme. The preview’s window positions and layout choices are temporary and are not submitted to a server. You can remove the saved theme by clearing this site’s browser data.

A server delivering the website receives standard request information, such as your IP address, the requested page, browser information, and request time. Server logs may retain this information for operation, security, and troubleshooting. The current site is a local preview; any public hosting provider and its retention practices will be identified here before public launch.

Support and information you choose to share

If you email drft@ndr.ws, ndrws LLC receives your email address, message, and any attachments you send. This information is used to answer your request, investigate issues, and keep necessary support records. The email service used to deliver and store the message also processes it.

Support information is kept only as long as reasonably needed for those purposes or to meet legal obligations. You can request access, correction, or deletion by emailing the same address. Some records may need to be retained where the law requires it.

Sharing and sales of information

drft does not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising. The current app has no developer-operated cloud account or automatic telemetry service. Information you choose to send for support may be handled by service providers needed to deliver that support, or disclosed when legally required.

Links to other websites are optional. Those websites handle information under their own policies.

Purchases

This preview website does not take payments or collect billing details. We plan to use Lemon Squeezy for purchases and license delivery. At launch, checkout will collect the information needed to process payment and email your receipt and license key. Lemon Squeezy will handle that information under its own privacy policy.

The planned paid app will send your license key and a random installation identifier to Lemon Squeezy when you activate or deactivate a Mac. It will also check saved activations on launch and once a day while running. The service receives your IP address with these requests. These checks do not send window titles, app usage, or keyboard input. Your trial record and activation are stored locally in macOS Keychain. A connection failure will not remove a saved paid activation.

Removing local information

To stop window management, pause or quit drft. Removing the app does not necessarily remove its saved settings. After quitting drft, you can remove its Application Support folder to delete local preferences, layouts, and recovery information. This resets your setup.

Reports you export and copies in backups remain where you saved them until you remove them there. ndrws LLC cannot remotely access or delete information held only on your Mac.

Security

Local app information is protected by the security controls of your Mac. No storage or communication method is completely secure. Keeping macOS current and protecting access to your device helps protect that information.

Children’s privacy

drft is a general-purpose utility and is not directed to children under 13. ndrws LLC does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Please contact ndrws LLC if you believe a child has sent personal information through support.

Changes to this policy

This policy will be updated when information handling changes. The revised date will appear at the top of this page. Where required, material changes will be communicated before they take effect and any required consent will be obtained.
